If you're ever in NYC you have to see this museum. We visited the museum during our trip to the city this past summer. Like many museums, there are times and days where admission to the museum is free or discounted. Considering our budget, we take full advantage of that blessing. We used the audio tour, which I recommend. The museum is laid out in chronological order, ascending from the first floor up. I made it through the first floor with no problem. It was very interesting and informative about the establishment and beginning history of several Jewish families in Europe and America. Two-thirds of the way through the second floor, I was overwhelmed with the brutality and reality of The Holocaust. I just cried and cried like a baby, right there in front of all the fellow patrons. It's heavy.
In the museum's gift shop I was delighted to find a tile plaque I've been wanting for a long time. It says "Shalom, ya'll."
