Bento

I read about the art of Bento here for the first time. I thought it was a lovely and charming idea that I would like to try for myself soon. I tried to implement the principals of artfully and picturesquely arranging food for my children's afternoon snack a few times, though I have simply done this with what I have had on hand, rather than buying official Bento tools. They seemed to enjoy it.

Bento seems to originally have been a term for any boxed lunch. Now it seems to mean small portions of artfully arranged food in a boxed lunch sort of presentation.

Hello and welcome Louvergirl. I simply used a picture I'd found to illustrate what bento is. But the ingredients are rice, carrots, edamame, strawberry, kiwi, and now my best guess: a cabbage wrap and possibly some flax crackers? Also a very small tangerine or calamondin.
